About

"Adam is an incredible bass player and not to mention he is pretty stunning with the guitar too. Finding a bass player that has as much funk and soul as him is like finding a needle in a haystack, but with Adam I got lucky. On top of the fact that he sounds like the angel of funk, he is also a lovely bloke, easy-going and great to tour with, hard-working, always on time, and always polite—representing how we want to treat the world as we walk through it. What a blessing to have found such a chap."

- Joss Stone -

Hailing from the capital of southern blues and Doo-Wop soul, Memphis, TN—Adam Troy Smith is a multi-instrumentalist and musical prodigy in his own right. The son of two exceptional musicians, his parents proclaimed that he was anointed with the gift of music well before his conception. Gaining his musical chops in the church as a young lad, Adam gravitated toward the drums and received his first drum set at the age of two. By the age of fifteen, he had learned the electric bass guitar, lead guitar, and tuba, quickly showcasing his technical aptitude,

perfect pitch, and broad instrumental repertoire.

A graduate of Tennessee State University and proud alumnus

of their historic Aristocrat of Bands, Adam has appeared on the Bobby Jones Gospel show, performed with Gospel legends, Shirley Caesar, Kirk Franklin, and Le'Andria Johnson, toured with vocal powerhouse Joss Stone and worked with Grammy Award-winning songwriters, Louis York and Raheem DeVaughn, to name a few.
